Join us for fellowship in the fellowship hall immediately after the morning worship service.

If you would like to help the deacons provide fellowship treats (either a sweet or a protein or a fruit), please sign the list on the table in the fellowship hall, or contact Kathy Menk, 251-518-7966.

■ Intercessory prayer group meets each Wednesday at 9 a.m. in the chapel.

■ Our food pantry is open to serve the community each Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m.

►Christmas market dates to remember . . . 

Lots of planning and preparing is taking place for our Christmas market, which will be held Saturday, Nov. 16, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

If you would like to be involved in planning, crafting, donating, contributing and helping with the market, please attend any or all of our meetings and craft times.

Come join the fun!

     ● Holiday wreaths and floral with Kathy Knipe — Thursday, Sept. 19, at 10 a.m. in the fellowship hall

Bring your own supplies:

• For mesh wreath — frame with twist ties (Hobby Lobby or Old Time Pottery), one large bolt of mesh or two smaller bolts, and two or three bolts of ribbon
• For green wreath — one wreath and two bolts of ribbon
• For both wreaths — choice of a few ornaments or florals or picks; and plaque or figurine to match your ribbon

     ● Tile painting with Barb Kelleher — Thursday, Oct. 3, at 10 a.m. in the fellowship hall

     ● Christmas market planning meeting — Thursday, Oct. 3, at 11 a.m. in the fellowship hall

Golf lessons for women 

Women’s golf clinics with David Musial, PGA, are being held on Tuesdays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. through Nov. 5 at Glen Lakes. Those wanting to participate should meet in the Glen Lakes clubhouse lobby at 3:20. Lessons are $15 each. Participants are asked to meet at 3:20 in the clubhouse lobby.

Swift cookbook update 

Volunteers picked up all 10 packets for recipe typing and all eight packets for recipe proofreading — and they have all been returned. Thanks so much to everyone who volunteered their time and talents. We have a few more to proof and then we will be organizing, finalizing and getting ready to print a cookbook.

The office has received some recipes that we are not sure who they belong to. Please contact the church office If you dropped off some that are titled:

      Shrimp Creole from Bert Engeron
      Chess cake
      Pumpkin roll
      Southern squash casserole or old-fashioned raisin bread pudding from newspaper

Mission and service 
►Food pantry 

The food pantry is open every Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. to serve the community.

This week, we served 69 families and 209 people.

If you are interested in helping or know of someone who might be interested, please consider getting involved or at least share the opportunity to volunteer with others.

Faith development 
►‘Snacks with Susan and Daryl’ Sunday school class 

Have you ever had a situation in your life that caused you to struggle with forgiveness? Where you know you are supposed to forgive but it’s so hard and the hurt is so deep? Starting in August, Snacks with Susan and Daryl will explore this topic using the video series “Forgiving What You Can’t Forget” by Lysa TerKeurst. Remaining sessions are:

     ● There’s Always a Meanwhile
     ● The Compounding Effect of Unforgiveness
     ● This Isn’t Easy, but It Is Good

If this is a topic that interests you, please join us for conversation and fellowship at 8 a.m. in annex room 4.

►Adult Sunday school class led by Bill and Catherine 

Join us as we continue our study of the book of Exodus.

We meet at 8 a.m. in annex room 2.

►Youth Sunday school class, led by Sheree Waters 

Join us as we study the Bible together. We meet at 8 a.m. in annex room 3.
