Lord of Peace, we lift our nation to You. Calm the storms of division and conflict. Pour out Your peace upon our land, soothing hearts and minds. Help us to be peacemakers in our communities, reflecting Your love and grace.

■
Our food pantry is normally open to serve the community each Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. However, the pantry will be closed Jan. 1 and instead be open on Thursday, Jan. 2, from 10 to 11.

►Church office holiday schedule

• New Year’s Eve (Tuesday, Dec. 31) — Open from 9 a.m. to noon

• New Year’s Day (Wednesday, Jan. 1) — Closed for the holiday

• Thursday, Jan. 2 — Normal hours resume, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Mission and service
►Food pantry

The food pantry normally is open every Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. to serve the community. However, with Christmas and New Year’s Day falling on Wednesdays, it will be open the same hours on Thursdays, Dec. 26 and Jan. 2.

This week, we served 27 families, including 107 people.

If you are interested in helping or know of someone who might be interested, please consider getting involved or at least share the opportunity to volunteer with others.

If you have questions or want to volunteer, please contact Jan Taylor (251‑978‑6418).

►December special mission offering

Our mission offering for December is the Presbyterian Home for Children. This is a ministry of the Presbyterian churches of Alabama that cares for teenage girls who have experienced abuse or neglect, and boys and girls of all ages and their caregivers, who find themselves homeless because of poverty, abuse, or abandonment. The offering that was collected on Christmas Eve will be sent to support this mission. However, during the entire month of December, you can give to this mission by making your check or offering envelope “for PHFC mission.”

Faith development
►‘Snacks with Susan and Daryl’ discussion class

Join Snacks with Susan and Daryl for an eight-session overview of “Christianity’s Family Tree” by Adam Hamilton.

Each denomination has a unique, valuable perspective to offer on the Christian faith. For each group, he gives a brief history, outlines major beliefs, and describes some things we can learn from tradition to strengthen our own Christian faith.

We meet Sundays at 9 a.m. in annex room 4. We hope you’ll join us.

►Adult Bible study class, led by Bill and Catherine

Join us as we continue our study of the book of Exodus.

We meet on Sundays at 9 a.m. in annex room 2.

Generosity
►Tithes and offerings

 Prayers and concerns
►Please let us know . . .

Please call the church or email to notify us of any joys or concerns; birthdays, anniversaries, health issues or family deaths so that we may put it in the weekly emailed announcements for your church family to pray with you or to praise God for your joy. (We don’t publish personal prayer concerns on the website.)

►Joys

     ■ Denise and David Angle’s son is visiting from Texas. Welcome.

     ■ Thanks be to God. Our Christmas Eve service was beautiful and a big success.
