►‘Snacks with Susan and Daryl’ discussion class
Sundays at 9 a.m. in annex room 4
|
| “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
This passage is a 26-word parade of hope. A verse brief enough to write on a napkin or memorize in a moment — and solid enough to weather 2,000 years of storms and questions.
Join us as we explore what this famous verse from John means to our faith in this five-week study. See you Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. in annex room 4 for Snacks with Susan and Daryl.
|
►Adult Bible study class, led by Bill and Catherine
Sundays at 9 a.m. in annex room 2
Join us as we continue studying the book of Hebrews. On May 11, the class will begin chapter 11.
This masterful document was written to the Jews who were struggling with accepting Jesus as the Messiah. The message of Hebrews is that Christianity surpasses Judaism because it has a better covenant and a more sufficient sacrifice for sins. We are taking the book verse by verse, discovering how the Old Testament writings pointed toward the New Covenant.
If you are new to the class, don’t worry about missing previous lessons. As in the rest of the Bible, each verse is almost a lesson in itself.
Visitors and new class members are always welcome! We have coffee brewed and take turns bringing pastries. We look forward to seeing you.
