     Children’s ministry

SWAG participants have some outdoor fun
    at the church.

    Christian education/children’s ministry (grades K–4)

By TERESA THOMAS Christian education elder (children)

Swift children are going strong in Sunday school with the awesome leadership of Sarah Kleinschmidt. Children’s church is also continuing to be led by a great group of volunteers who I don’t know what we would do without.

A big shout-out to all of those responsible for teaching our children about the love of God.

SWAG (Kids’ Club) continues to meet once a month under the leadership of Pastor Keith, who shares a devotion with the children, and I lead in games and crafts.

We will be gearing up for vacation Bible school soon, and I hope you will earnestly pray for God’s guidance and will for a successful time. If you feel the call to serve as a volunteer in some way for VBS, please let me know. Dates will be provided soon.

In Christian love, I thank you all.

    ■ SWAG (Saved With Amazing Grace) is for children K–4 and will meet at the church on Sunday, May 6, from 4 to 6 p.m.

    ■ If anyone would like to provide dinner for approximately 20 children/adults, we would greatly appreciate it. Contact Teresa Thomas at 609-2209 or Tara Morrow at 979-3325.

It was Aug. 20, a day before students in Baldwin County public schools returned to class.

Students of all ages came forward at the 10 a.m. worship service
to receive a blessing for their school year.

    These are scenes from 2016.

    It’s offered during 10:00 service
    except for communion Sundays

Swift Church offers children’s church (grades K–4) during the 10:00 service after “time with the children.” It will be offered each Sunday except for communion Sundays. (Children’s church is on seasonal break and will resume Sept. 9.)

The location is room 3 in the annex.

    Would you like to purchase
    a Bible for children’s church?

We are wanting 10–12 children’s Bibles for our children’s church. Would you like to donate one? They are $20 each. You can include your donation in the weekly offering plate. If you do it by check or online giving, please specify the amount you want to be used for the Bibles.

Most of our 10 a.m. worship services include a time with the children.

     Sunday school

    Classes for children and youth
(These classes are on seasonal break and will resume Sept. 9.)

Sunday school classes for children and youth are offered from 9 to 9:45 a.m.:

♦ The children’s class and children’s church (both for grades K–4) are in the children’s ministry room in the annex.

♦ The youth class meets in the youth room in the annex. Look for further information in “Youth Happenings.”

     Classes for adults

Adult Sunday school classes meet from 9 to 9:45 a.m. in the annex:

♦ “Snacks With Susan and Daryl” meets in the carpeted area of the fellowship hall. They discuss topics of interest to the participants and often watch a DVD first.

♦ The Swift adult class meets in room 2 in the annex. They are taking a chronological look at the books of the New Testament. Cheryl Jensen and Anthony Kaiser present the lessons. This class digs quite deeply into scripture and does not hesitate to present challenging thoughts for growing Christians while challenging participants to share the gospel of Christ in our community.
