    ■ The handbell choir will play at the 10:00 worship service today.

    ■ Thanks to all who provided the delicious soups, desserts and breads for our Souper Bowl of Caring lunch last Sunday. A total of $687 was given and will go to our food pantry; helping to supply our shelves with additional food.

    ■ Remember to come to our winter visitors appreciation bratwurst lunch next Sunday after the 10:00 service. (See more information below.)

    Getting involved at Swift this week 

    Sunday, Feb. 9 — Chancel choir will not rehearse at 9 a.m.

    Sunday, Feb. 9 — Finance committee meeting, 11 a.m. in room 2 in the annex

    Sunday, Feb. 9 — Deacons meeting, 3:30 p.m. in room 2 in the annex

    Tuesday, Feb. 11 — Golden Age group from Biloxi, Miss., will visit Foley and touring our historic chapel; 9 to 10:30 a.m. Debbie Schmidt will offer the history of the chapel.

    Wednesday, Feb. 12 — Food pantry distribution, 10 a.m. to noon in the fellowship hall

    Wednesday, Feb. 12 — Preschool board meeting, 12:30 p.m. in room 2 in the annex

    Wednesday, Feb. 12 — Handbell choir rehearsal, 5:30 p.m. in the sanctuary

    Thursday, Feb. 13 — Bible study, 10 to 11:30 a.m. in room 2 in the annex

    Getting involved at Swift: upcoming 

    Sunday, Feb. 16 — We will collect our “two-cents a meal” offering.

    Sunday, Feb. 16 — The session will meet immediately after the 8:00 and 10 a.m. services to receive people into membership.

    Sunday, Feb. 16 — Swift’s fellowship committee will host our winter visitors appreciation bratwurst lunch. The church will provide the brats and sauerkraut with buns along with coleslaw and baked beans. We would like about 10 people to bring desserts. We will take a collection to offset the cost of the food. We will have sign-up sheet and greatly appreciate everybody’s help. For any questions feel free to call Mark, 251-269-8051.

    Youth activities 

    Wednesday, Feb. 12 — Refuel (for youth in grades 5–12) will meet, 6 to 8 p.m. at Mike and Lynn Barnwell’s home; contact Tracy Akins if you would like to host this youth group and/or be a part of the Christian education committee.

    Sunday, Feb. 23 — SWAG (for children in grades K–4) and GphiG (youth in grades 5–12) will meet from 4 to 6 p.m. at the church.

    2019 income/expense reports 

    The church’s financial report for 2019 is posted on the bulletin board in the narthex for your perusal.

    New church directory 

    Sue Ann Lay is working on a new church directory. If you have made changes in your contact information or would like a new picture, please let her know. You can email her at alay@gulftel.com. If you have a picture you would like her to use please email it to her or give it to her at church. Any hard copies of pictures will be returned to you as soon as they are scanned. Thank you.

    We have vases available if you would like to borrow one to make your own arrangement.
