      Passionate worship 


      Join us for a special service
      of Scripture and hymns as we begin Holy Week.

      “Between the Parades: ‘A’ and ‘B’ ”
      Luke 19:28–40 and Luke 22:39–41

      ►Fellowship time 

      We invite everyone to join us for fellowship time, immediately after the 10:00 service, in the fellowship hall.

      The fellowship deacons set out such items as cookies, cakes, cupcakes, doughnuts, fruit, etc., along with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and other beverages.

      ►April 14 — Maundy Thursday 

      Services in our area

      Foley First Presbyterian — 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., drop-in service
      Orange Beach Presbyterian — 6 p.m., in person; 7 p.m., online
      Gulf Shores Presbyterian — 6:30 p.m., in person and live stream

      The Lord’s Supper will be served
      on Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
      Everyone is welcome at the table.
      ►April 15 — Good Friday 

      Our Good Friday service will be at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary. The service will include Scriptures, prayers, sermon, hymns, handbells, piano duet, Last Supper communion, Tenebrae (the extinguishing of candles), placing our sins on the stripped cross, and the tolling of the bell beside the cross in the cemetery. Pastor Jody Beth and Elder Philip Melton will lead the service.

      ►April 17 — Easter Sunday 

      The service will include Scriptures, prayers, sermon, hymns, handbells, and a piano duet. Dr. Walter Lawrence will return as guest preacher. Decorate the Easter cross with flowers from home, pictures in front of the cross, Easter lilies in the chapel and sanctuary, Easter breakfast, prepared by our deacons, will be served in the fellowship hall at 9 a.m., and an egg hunt will follow the 10 a.m. service.

      ►Sanctuary flowers 

      Please consider donating flowers for the sanctuary and chapel observing your special occasions and/or remembrances. Contact the office to reserve your date or Susie Alexander at 251-943-4145.

      ►Volunteers for worship

      Risk-taking mission and service 
      ►Food pantry 

      The food pantry is now open every Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. to serve the community.

      This past Wednesday, we served 38 families, including 80 individuals.

      ►One Great Hour of Sharing 

      Our mission emphasis during the Season of Lent is One Great Hour of Sharing. For more than 70 years, our gifts to this special offering have connected us in God’s healing, tending and growing to create a world where all needs are met. Thanks to your heartfelt gifts, the effort supports projects in more than 100 countries.

      Intentional faith development

      Cheryl’s class meets at 9 a.m. in room 2 in the annex.

      ►‘Snacks with Susan and Daryl’ Sunday school class 

      Susan and Daryl’s class meets at 9 a.m. in the fellowship hall.

      Tracy Akins’s class meets at 9 a.m. in the youth room in the annex.
